The school social worker, Mrs. Wheeler, and the speech language pathologist, Mrs. Bommarito, organize and facilitate a Peer to Peer program at Beer. The focus of this program is to provide students with autism spectrum disorder and others struggling with peer relationships an opportunity to connect with positive peer role models, or LINKS, in a fun and semi-structured way.
The 2021-2022 Peer to Peer group is held every Tuesday during students' regular lunch time.
Peer mentors, or LINKS, were nominated by staff and then interviewed for an opportunity to participate. They participate in monthly trainings to learn how to better support their peers.
